Taken from Nell in Bridewell, a strange contraption but certainly gets the buttocks in a good position. Not sure how easy it is to whip in this downward stroke manner. If I remember the whip is supposed to be a bull's pizzle. When I first saw this illustration at a very impressionable age I thought she had far too much protection for that big arse.
