Hans Braun

A couple of drawings by Hans Braun. Old yes, but interesting. The first shows what is a birching horse. And one can see the straps for ankles and wrists and waist. The next shows what happens to someone who thinks a proper birching will be fun. I can speak from experience that any position where you are supported by your body and not knees,or legs, is a very difficult one to escape any strokes. With two birches waiting, there is going to be some frantic squealing and kicking.

  1. You wouldn't want to wriggle too much or you'd fall over. It looks rather tall in comparison to the filly.
